Donation of $5,529 from the Port Angeles Marathon Association
The 17th annual North Olympic Discovery Marathon took place on June 2nd, 2019. The North Olympic Discovery Marathon is organized by the Port Angeles Marathon Association (PAMA), the same organization that puts on the new Run the Peninsula Series. PAMA is a non-profit event that gives back to the community and supports the trail that we run on. This year PAMA has donated over $28,000.00 to over 30 different location organizations including the Olympic Discovery Trail.
In additional to the $28,000 the North Olympic Discovery Marathon and over 380 participants donated an additional $5,529.00 to the Olympic Discovery Trail.
Jeff Bohman, Present of the Olympic Discovery Trail, noted that, “These funds will be of major help to our ongoing trail signage program, for maintenance activities like the Dean’s Creek Bridge repair, and for growing our trail maintenance equipment capabilities.”
Olympic Discovery Trail is maintained by the Peninsula Trails Coalition, an all-volunteer group that helps to build, protect, grow and maintain the trail.
