Sequim is the perfect destination to stay while you enjoy the Olympic Peninsula. Located between Port Townsend and Port Angeles, we have the beauty of the cobalt blue waters of the Strait of Juan de Fuca to our north and the snow capped Olympic Mountain Range to our south.
As the ODT winds it’s way through Sequim you cross many bridges including the new 780 foot trestle over the Dungeness River which connects to a rare wooden truss bridge. The surrounding Dungeness River Nature Center has river walks and an Audubon Center.
Sequim is known for its “blue hole” phenomenon, a product of its location in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains. We typically receive less than 15 inches of rain each year, with less than 3 inches accumulation between June and the end of September.
Home to many Lavender Farms. In mid-July Sequim hosts the Lavender Festival busy weekend includes farm tours, live music, and a craft and food fair downtown and at Carrie Blake Park.
Further north, the Dungeness Spit is home to one of the longest, prettiest sand spits in the US. Activities there include hiking and bird watching. There are equestrian and mountain bike trails in the adjacent Dungeness Recreation Area, and the nearby Dungeness Landing has a boat launch providing access to Dungeness Bay and the Strait for kayakers, crabbers, and fishermen.
